"The collections of objects focused within these pieces are brought together to represent emotional connections. These canning jars, being a common object of the past are recreated as portraits of people. The compositions are not specific to any individual, but guides towards an identity that the viewer may relate with. Each began with a word, a word that was originally marked on a canning jar. These descriptive words were once used to market the jar, and are now highlighted and are to be joined with the work’s title to set the scene.
