A story of change and enlightenment--the dragonfly’s emergence
from its waterborne state to airborne illumination is a reminder
that we too are in a constant state of becoming--and that we can
move beyond self-imposed limitation, if we so choose.
This burl slab was first turned on the lathe, to form a thin, graceful
wave as a starting point. The final sculpture was bleached, then
lightly burnished with pigment to highlight the organic quality of the
burl. Its natural edge remains in tact at the base.
The Seventh is free of the main sculpture--to be placed according
to the vision of the collector. Garden of the Seventh is without
limit.
