Recognizing Amy Gross

Please join us in congratulating Momentum Gallery inaugural artist Amy Gross as the finalist (second place) for the prestigious 2019 Southern Prize, a fellowship which recognizes and celebrates the highest quality artwork being created in the American South! Based on the sole criterion of artistic brilliance, Amy was chosen as the finalist from a pool of more than 800 applicants by a national jury. Her imaginative and refined, hand-embroidered and beaded fiber sculptures "suggest not only what can be seen, but also what cannot: the early alterations of time, the first suggestions of disintegration."
