Christian Burchard & Kristy Kún: wood & felt

Renowned sculptors Christian Burchard and Kristy Kún round out Momentum’s fall exhibitions, showcasing Burchard’s objects in wood and Kún’s dramatic hand-felted fiber works. Burchard uses Pacific madrone nearly exclusively, twisting and buckling as it cures to form unique shapes with a beautiful sense of movement. Kún’s textiles also convey a sense of current and flow, echoing natural water, earth, and sky formations. Kún and Burchard occasionally collaborate, nesting felt pieces within wooden forms. Their exhibition features a collection of dramatic works from each artist and a selection of their collaborations.
