Crystal Gregory

Overview

Crystal Gregory explores the tensions between industrial materials of the built landscape and the structural patterns of textiles. Using metal, drywall, concrete, or glass with hand-woven fabric or lace, she creates dynamic wall and free-standing sculptures which challenge our notion of strong. Her works are completely contemporary yet feel accessible and invite study.

"By pairing these seemingly opposite worlds together, I invert stereotypes, using the 'delicate' materials to exhibit strength and support the weight of concrete, or suspend fragile glass geometries." - Crystal Gregory

Crystal Gregory lives and works in Lexington, Kentucky.
