Overview

Ivy Jacobsen’s paintings balance magical elements with rendering of flora and fauna found in nature to create mysterious landscapes that inspire inner curiosity.  She draws inspiration from studying the plants she encounters on daily strolls through her neighborhood, botanical illustrations, and the science of plants and their life cycles. Her paintings are composed of many thin layers of oil paint, bronzing powder, acrylic paint, resin, and other mixed media on panel.

“For the last 10 years I've been focused on creating the illusion of depth within my landscapes. It is my hope that the viewer is invited "into" the picture to explore and keep discovering new things within the layers." - Ivy Jacobsen
